Set Up the Production Quote Tool for Your Shop transcript
Before you quote your first job, take a minute to teach the Production Quote Tool how your shop works.
Open Settings, and begin with Your Business.
Add your company name, contact information, address, website, and—if you have one—your logo.
These details automatically carry into the Quotes, Invoices, and Purchase Orders you create, so every document comes from your business—not ours.
Next, choose the production methods available to you.
Turn on Direct to Film, Screen Printing, or both.
You do not have to produce either one in-house. These settings simply describe the production options your shop can sell and manage.
When both are enabled, the tool can compare them using the same job information.
If you turn one off, it disappears from the calculator—but its vendor and pricing information is preserved in case you need it later.
The remaining sections control your shop’s defaults: apparel pricing, shipping, tax, documents, and accepted payment methods.
We’ll configure the pricing sections together in the next few videos. For now, notice that each section can be opened independently, so you can change one part of your shop without rebuilding everything else.
When you’re finished, select Save Settings.
Your settings are stored locally in this browser. There is no account to create, and your pricing and business information are not being added to a hosted JDC database.
Then select Export Backup to download a portable copy of your complete setup.
That backup can be stored safely, or imported into another browser or computer using Import Settings.
Set up the shop once—and every new job begins with your business already built in.
